Miniature pewter hippopotamus pencil holder by Danish designer Just Andersen circa 1930s. An excellent example of Just Andersen's talent for fusing art deco design with functionality, this rare and collectable piece is a unique way to hold household items such as matches, pens, pencils or even make-up brushes and would be a unique addition to any desk or dressing table. Features the famous makers engraving of 'Just' in a capital A on the the base alongside 'Danmark' to certify authenticity. A whimsical, covetable piece for those with an eye for craftsmanship and elegant Scandinavian design.
In excellent condition with signs of wear synonymous with age and use as can be seen in our photos.
